Agreement By using the AAPSL website or applying for membership, you agree to these Terms, the Disclaimer, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Rules. ## 2. Eligibility You must be legally able to enter a contract. You must provide accurate application information. You may not impersonate another person. ## 3. Nature of the service AAPSL is a membership community and education initiative. It is **not** a law firm and does **not** provide legal representation. See the Disclaimer. ## 4. Membership tiers and dues - **Verified Member:** USD $30 per year unless changed with notice. - **Sponsored Member:** Fee-waived after approval; same community rules apply. - Payment is processed by Stripe. Dues purchase membership consideration subject to approval and ongoing compliance—not software licenses, legal services, or guaranteed forum privileges. ### 4.1 Approval Submitting an application or paying dues does not guarantee activation. Administrators may approve, delay, or reject applications. ### 4.2 Refunds [Counsel to set policy. Working proposal: dues refundable within 14 days if membership not activated; otherwise non-refundable except where required by law.] ### 4.3 Tax treatment [Counsel to set 501(c)(3) / benefits valuation language before any deductibility claims.] ## 5. Accounts and security Access uses magic-link email authentication. You must keep your email account secure. We may suspend accounts for suspected compromise or abuse. ## 6. Acceptable use You agree not to: - post sealed, juvenile-identifying, or unredacted confidential information; - harass, threaten, or dox others; - provide or solicit unauthorized legal representation through the platform; - attempt to bypass security or tenant/admin controls; - use the service for spam, malware, or unlawful activity; - misrepresent credentials. ## 7. Community content If/when posting features open, you grant AAPSL a non-exclusive license to host, moderate, and display your posts for operating the community. You represent you have rights to the content you submit and that it is properly redacted. ## 8. Research consent Optional research consent applies only to **anonymized** pattern extracts after human review. It never authorizes posting sealed materials or automatic sale of data. ## 9. NORA One NORA One software, if offered later, is a separate product with separate terms. AAPSL membership does not automatically include production NORA One access. ## 10. Intellectual property Site branding, layout, and original content are owned by NORA Foundation or its licensors. You may not copy the site for competing services without permission. ## 11. Disclaimers THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. ## 12. Limitation of liability [Counsel to complete cap, exclude consequential damages, and carve-outs required by law.] Working proposal for counsel consideration: aggregate liability limited to the greater of (a) amounts paid to AAPSL in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD $30, excluding liability that cannot be limited by law. ## 13. Indemnity You will defend and indemnify NORA Foundation and AAPSL operators against claims arising from your content, misuse, or violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct. ## 14. Suspension and termination We may suspend or terminate access for rule violations, legal risk, nonpayment, or service discontinuation. You may stop using the service at any time. ## 15. Governing law [Counsel: governing law and venue.] ## 16. Changes We may update these Terms by posting a new version.
